Almost packed

I am almost packed. Unbelievable how stuff keeps turning up! Will be in our new home on Friday. I feel rather strange and sad that I will be leaving my old home. Lots of memories here.

Felting experience

I found it at last. This is a small piece I hand felted. http://www.allfiberarts.com/library/felt/blfelt.htm As per instruction I laid the fibres on top of each other. First layer horizontal then the second layer vertically over it, soaked the fibres with warm soapy water and rubbed it gently in a circular motion. I added some angelina fibres to give it sparkle. I was trying for flimsy texture of felt with holes in some places so I laid the fibres in a thin layer and did not bother covering up the holes. However I did not get the result I wanted. The felt was not so flimsy but not altogether displeased with the results either. I have got plenty of ideas floating in my head as to how I am going to use it to embellish my doll. Should be fun.

Do I need more trims!!

Yesterday I went and bought more trims. As if I don't have enough LOL! But my excuse is I needed some for my class for EDAC next month and since I am all packed to move I don't know if I will find time to unpack everything and find the stuff before I leave for US. Anyway it was only some wired ribbons.

Moving house

I am moving house next week. They say it can be the most stressful thing, well for me it makes me want to go to sleep curled up in a darkend corner. I packed about 20 boxes of my craft stuff. You might say that 20 is nothing, well you should see my craft room how small it is, then you might say ah yes, it is amazing how much has come out of that teeny weeny cubby hole! Couldn't take pictures as I can't find the camera now.

My Doll in book

Earlier this year Patti Culea's much awaited book on 'Creative Cloth Doll Faces was published. I was honoured to be asked to make a doll for her book and was thrilled to see her on the back cover as well.
